Who We Are

Hi! My name is Niki and I’m the gal behind Sister Hawk Farm. And the dog? That’s Gus, he’s the #1 best boy!

I started Sister Hawk Farm in 2018 as an extension of the homesteading I was already doing. I had extra eggs and I raised a few extra meat chickens and sold them to friends and family. It didn’t take long for me to realize farming was something I was serious about and wanted to pursue as a business.

I now raise a few hundred meat chickens and a small number of meat ducks each year, have a flock of laying hens, both chicken and quail, and keep bees. I am working towards raising meat quail and meat rabbits as well as developing relationships with small restaurants who share my passion for quality.

With all of that said, my main goal is to provide my family, and my community, ethically and responsibly raised animal products. I want every animal on my farm to be raised with the same care. It doesn’t matter if it’s a chicken raised for meat or my good boy Gus, they all deserve the best life I can give them. All the animals at Sister Hawk Farm are fed a diet of organic grains and given access to sunshine, fresh air, and pasture as much as possible. This allows me to raise the animals to my standards and responsibly use my land.

In addition I want to establish a working relationship with my community. A relationship built on trust, shared values, and communication. I want to be a resource for you whether you’re looking for a product I don’t sell, or have questions on how to cut up a whole chicken. Never hesitate to reach out, I am happy, and eager, to help.

Everything above wouldn’t be possible without the support of my husband Jason and our two sons Elliott and Oliver. They respect, encourage, and support what I do from spending summers raising chickens to giving up our kitchen during honey harvest.

I can’t wait to be your farmer!

Niki
